Trust me Polly I've sailed on the sloop John B my Grand Pappy and me ,over the seven seas we did roam ,the captain was a wicked man he got drunk when he can, oh let me go home!.The poor cook he got the fits he threw away all of my grits .So hoist up up the John B's sail see how the main sail sets, call for the captain ashore,let me go home ,I wanna go home, why don't they let me go home this is the worst trip I've ever been on.

thus i am quite fascinated with my roots in the church of england, who in turn has its roots in the roman catholic church.
many of the church buildings and cathedrals that exist in england today date back to the first millenium after christ and thus were roman catholic at the time they were built.

A few weeks ago I visited Rosslyn Chapel ,I heard about it through the media and how it has become a large tourist attraction because of the De Vinci code .When we arrived there it was fairly quiet and we went to see what all the fuss was about because we like visiting old Abbeys and churches .We were not dissapointed it was a remarkable place full of stone carvings each telling a story. ,the Bible in stone was one discription of it.We went up to the roof area which has a canopy over it, from up there could be seen a ruined castle that had fallen victim to Oliver Cromwell's army.Rosslyn started out as Catholic until the reformation, luckily it survived as is now protestant.
I have found the Church of England, thanks to the reformation,to be a very benign ,mild and slightly eccentric church.It's clergy seem to be slightly eccentric as well .If you have ever seen a Peter Sellers film called Heavens Above you will know what I mean.I always feel that for most part the Cof E is non threatning and the services are relaxing and refreshing.Very vicar of Dibley in it's mode of opperation, very civilised.
There are Victorian churches everywhere and some of the country parish churches are great if you are searching for ancestors.Some of the old ruins such as Fountains Abbey are in amazing peaceful and tranquil settings.In contrast there is Whitby Abbey set high on a hill overlooking the coast and where Bram Stoker saw the church yard and Abbey and was inspired to write Dracular.
For most part all the churches are kept unlocked in order thet they remain a retreat for those seeking peace and solace.

The JWs treat craters just like the holes that they are already in ,they just keep digging.

It was meant to be silly in order to make the point.
I was just trying to make the point that for someone who is a JW getting involved with a school around here you would have to be open to many religious participations because of the many Church of England and Catholic schools that there are. The state run ones also have coordination with the local Cof E vicar.
During my time spent on the local church council a few years ago it was our local Cof E priest who requested volunteers for the local school board of governers.If a JW attended a governers meeting he would be asking to be excused more times than he participated.
Think of all the times he would have to vote on whether to hold a charity fund raising event and be expected to attend extra curricular activity.J.dubs won't even socialise, most of the time , over a cup of coffee if you are not in the truth.
If you could get a show of hands at the Kingdom Hall ask how many would be prepared to volunteer for school duties then see how many raise and how many would look horrified.
If the big brothers in Brooklyn didn't come up with the doctrine of seperation from the world we wouldn't even be having this debate.

King of the North where is he hanging out?
by edmond dantes inhave we had any new light on who the king of the north is at the present time because i need a reminder .i haven't read anything about him since the 1960s.and the last time i tried explaining it to a little old lady at the door the russian missiles were on the their way to cuba and the late night news reader, that night ,said " goodnight everyone and i hope you all have a peaceful and restfull night," which was very unusual because radio announcers did not comment after the news in those days.. thunder and lightning, frightning very very frightning, bealzeebub moma mia moma mia!.

Some of these adverts on here make me laugh.I just had to smile after that last post because up popped an ad. which said find your Russian beauty here ,it appeared with a picture of a very pretty Russian blonde lady.
I haven't found the Volga boatman yet, not that I was looking for him you understand.
